| Tony Orlando Pays Tribute to NCOA Heroes |  | “The Best Convention Ever” many were calling it as they walked out of the Grand Ballroom at the Golden Nugget after NCOA’s salute to their Vanguard Recipients.
NCOA’s annual tribute to heroes was highlighted by having Award Winning Artist Tony Orlando and his band perform for the attendees and then come back later in the evening with a special tribute song just for the five Vanguard Award recipients.
NCOA was honored to have the Sergeant Major of the Marine Corps Carlton Kent as their guest speaker this year. It was a perfect fit especially this year as NCOA teamed up with American Airlines, Tony Orlando and others to aid in the presentation of a special IBOT chair to a Vietnam Marine Veteran who had lost both his legs in the war. It was also a unique fact that this is NCOA’s Golden Anniversary as an Association and that Tony Orlando was also celebrating 50 years in the entertainment business.
Final touches are being put on the August on-line magazine that will include all the Vanguard stories, photos and news from the NCOA convention. The issue should be on-line by Aug 25th.
