Disaster Relief Fund
The NCOA Disaster Relief Fund was established in 1994 to assist enlisted military personnel with immediate disaster-related expenses. Grants have been awarded to personnel in all five branches of the Armed Forces to include Guard and Reserve Components to assist with emergency needs in bombing situations, fires, floods, hurricanes, typhoons and tornadoes.

The Fund fills a very real void in emergency assistance…

When flood waters engulfed Grand Forks, North Dakota -
NCOA’s Disaster Relief Fund was issuing grants within 24 hours.

When tornadoes crippled the Midwest -
the NCOA Disaster Relief Fund had grant money in the hands of victims within 12 hours.

When an apartment fire in Bremerton, Washington devastated dozens of Navy families -
the Disaster Relief Fund had monetary assistance in place before the end of the day.

When flash floods struck South Texas -
the NCOA Disaster Relief Fund sprung into action within hours.

When a terrorist’s bomb destroyed U.S. military barracks Dhahran, Saudi Arabia -
NCOA’s Disaster Relief Fund responded immediately.

When typhoons struck Okinawa, Japan -
the NCOA Disaster Relief Fund immediately began providing assistance.
